Brian, the owner of BT Custom Painting and his foreman John were not only a wealth of knowledge and walked me through every last step of the epoxy floor laying process, but they were also prompt, hardworking and went through my space with an eye for details that I was completely impressed by. My bid was actually a bit over what we ended up finishing at (which is rare!) and the result in my space is a custom floor that looks even better than what I had imagined. They created something that has become a focal point for the salon - not only that but it's also durable and easy to maintain as well. In June 2013, we contracted with BT Custom Painting to paint our home in Placerville. Ours is a 40 year-old house located on 5 acres.
The house hadn’t been painted in 15 years and showed it. The previous do-it-yourself paint job and weather extremes had cumulatively left our home looking worn out. Brian Spies, owner of BT, came in with a very competitive bid and we agreed to start work in early July.
Brian and his foreman John worked above and beyond expectations and provided excellent service and results. We asked Brian to do some needed carpentry work and we also added to the original painting request. He agreed to the added work with a great attitude and reasonable price.
The end product far exceeded what we imagined. We feel as if we have a brand new house. Being on the job site every day with Brian and John, we could see for ourselves their incredible attention to detail and we were equally impressed with the communication and professionalism they brought to the project.

In 2006, we were fortunate to have engaged Brian Spies as the primary painter of our stucco house in Placerville. The result was remarkable,. And to this day, our home looks virtually new.
Therefore, when we decided to revamp our garage, we called Brian. Not only did he give us helpful advice, he followed that with a work-product anyone would be proud of. Brian painted walls and ceilings, and installed a very high quality epoxy floor. His attention to detail was impressive. Surprisingly, Brian has carpentry skills of which we had not been aware. He suggested that we close in our water heater, and completed an excellent and effective heater closet. Brian is a pleasant person to work with, has a good sense of humor, and provides quality results at a reasonable price. We will call him for future work that we are just now planning. We then needed someone to texture a lot of drywall that was not installed to the highest quality. His patience and skill were obvious in the completed job. He showed up on time. BT Custom painting recently completed painting of our house. We changed the color of the house, so it was critical not to miss a square inch. Being an older house, there was a substantial amount of prep work in sealing the old wood, trim and masking off.
The paint job is awesome and this 25 year old house looks new again, just as Brian promised. BT Custom Painting was on time, did excellent quality work, paid a lot of attention to detail, ran an extremely neat and clean job and had great advice on selection of base color and trim coordination. We learned of Brian thru a friend of his who was doing work on our
house. Brian came out to talk to us and was very professional in his demeanor and approach.
One of his best suggestions was to use something called “permanizer” on the new T-1-11 siding. He also used it on certain severely weathered panels on the house and garage. If you have T-1-11 siding, you NEED this stuff! It seals the wood and prevents the usual splitting and cracking you typically see with Painted T-1-11. What a difference! I can already tell this paint job is really going to last! We could not be happier with the job he did. If your house needs painting, call Brian!

We had the outside of our house painted a couple of years ago by a local company. One of the guys who worked for this company, really stood out.
He did an exceptional job! When we were ready to have some inside painting done, we really wanted to hire the same guy but we didn't have his phone number. I got a referral from a friend and scheduled an appointment for a quote. When I opened the door - it was the same guy who painted the outside of our house - Brian! It was so great to see Brian again. He painted a very difficult stair-well, bonus room, a challenging ceiling and lots and lots of trim. He was very clean, thorough, and offered creative suggestions to finish the job perfectly. We also found him to be very reasonable and his quote came in lower than the other quotes we received. I would highly recommend Brian for any painting you might have. We converted the downstairs room into an old West "Saloon". Brian varnished/ lacquered the Wainscot and Knotty Pine Doors we installed using a different varnish for the outside doors where the sun will blast on it.
He did a great job, ensuring all the existing floor and furniture already in the room was covered and at end of job - cleaned up very nicely. He completed the job in a timely manner and the wood looks great! We are very pleased and would recommend him to others and will be using him again for our other painting needs as we continue with our home remodel.

We hired Brian to do the finish painting on the outside of our new home (doors, window trims gutters and beams). He came to us highly recommended and we were not disappointed in the least.
Brian did his job very well, taking great pride in the quality of his work. Not only was he reasonably priced, he did his work quickly and efficiently. Additionally, he made very good decisions about the aesthetics of the lines of the paint. Our pop out trim around our house was very poorly done by our stucco contractor (would not refer him to anyone). Brian was able to cut the lines with a dark paint against a light house on an uneven surface and it looks beautiful! We consider it artwork! I would highly recommend him for all your painting needs.

We had BT Custom Painting do several interior painting jobs for us June of 09. Brian was very professional and came out for an estimate right away. They were able to get the job done in a very reasonable 2 day span.
Everything was just what we wanted. We love not having ugly green wall paper with pink flowers on it in our kitchen anymore. The quality of their work was excellent, the prep work was top notch, and the cleanup was greatly appreciated- they even packed out all the ugly wall paper. We highly recommend this company- no hassle, efficient, and got the job done right!
I recently built some alder shelving throughout my home. I had Brian put a clear coating on the shelving to protect them and bring out the wood grain. I was more than satisfied when he brought them back to the house.
They had a beautiful clear coat on them that brought out the grain of the wood. Not only did they come out perfect but he finished them ahead of schedule. Brian was more than fair in his estimate of the work and was great to work with. I recommend Brian to anybody that is looking into having any paint work done.
